WHAT MAKES HST (PL-FUE) DIFFERENT?
The HST, PL-FUE (Partial longitudinal-FUE) method, applied in selected hair transplantation centers worldwide and in our center exclusively throughout Greece, Cyprus and other Balkan countries. It is performed using special micro-tools, which allow the partial removal of the hair follicle.
HST (PL-FUE) method – How does it work?
The hair follicle is divided along the hair shaft in 2 elongated sections, one of which remains in the donor area and the other is transplanted to the recipient area. Thus, with the PL-FUE method, two new hair follicles are created from the elaboration of one follicle in the donor area.
This results in:
✓ the maintenance of hair density in the donor area
✓ the reduction of visible scars in the donor area
✓ the possibility of creating a truly natural result in the recipient area, as the graft is small in diameter and therefore more hair follicles can be placed on the same surface, compared to classic FUE

Throughout his career, Dr. Coen Gho has made remarkable advancements in the field, with one of his most renowned contributions being the development of the HST method, short for Partial Longitudinal Follicular Unit Extraction. This groundbreaking hair transplant technique involves the extraction of hair follicle portions using a needle measuring between 0.5 to 0.6 millimeters in diameter and 5 to 6 millimeters in length. The HST method allows for the preservation of stem cells in the donor area, which can subsequently be transplanted to the recipient area. Both the donor and recipient follicles have the potential to generate hair growth. Notably, the grafts in the HST method are significantly smaller compared to other hair transplantation techniques, resulting in enhanced hair density without visible scarring.
